Last year a previously unknown composition by Benjamin Britten came to light. It is a beautiful setting of words by TENNYSON: Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal.
It was originally intended to be part of the Serenade for tenor, horn and strings, and this first broadcast, given by the tenor Neil Mackie , also includes the complete cycle as it was published.
Michael Thompson is the horn player with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra conducted by Steuart Bedford Sound RON ALLAN
