Our sense of humour baffles them, our politics bother them, our preoccupation with tradition bemuses them.
Apparently, we don't wash, and we are morose and miserable even on holiday. On the other hand, we are polite and kind to animals. Each week, Derek Jameson looks at the way foreign TV reports this country. Tonight he examines the foreign fascination for both the Royal Family and the English eccentric; this involves joining the Japanese in their bizarre search for 'the surprise treasures of the Queen'.
