Starring Barbara Stanwyck, Ronald Reagan

In the rugged Montana Territory of the 1880s, a woman vows vengeance for her father's murder.
Barbara Stanwyck, like those two other imperishables Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, has remained at the very top of the Hollywood tree for well over thirty years. She made her first film, The Locked Door, in 1929, and it was followed by a long string of successes including The Lady Eve, Double Indemnity, and Sorry, Wrong Number - all seen on BBC-tv. In tonight's film she plays a typical Stanwyck heroine - beautiful, tough, independent.

Introduced by Cliff Morgan

The first match from Wales in this present series focuses on two of the strongest teams in the Western valleys of Monmouthshire.
Gilbert Bennett reports from the Council Ground Pontypool Park

Today's match will be more than just a 'local Derby' fixture on the Welsh Rugby Union calendar. Wales, unable to win either of their internationals during their recent tour of the Argentine, must find a successful team for the forthcoming championship season. So players are keen to prove themselves worthy of selection not only for the home internationals but for the tour of Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji in May.
