Wheelbase covers the London to Sydney Marathon
The 10,000 miles London to Sydney road race last Sunday reached Bombay, where the liner Chusan was waiting to take the first seventy cars to arrive onwards by sea to Perth for the final three-day dash across Australia.
This is the story, in the drivers' own words, of the first seven days of the marathon, which took them from Crystal Palace in London over the Alps and through the Iron Curtain to Istanbul; then over the mountain passes of Turkey, across the deserts of Iran to Kabul and the Khyber Pass.
'See you in Sydney': the story of the race across Australia will be seen in Wheelbase on Friday, December 20.
