Soap in Their Eyes. In the last of the series, presenter Mark Lawson examines the future of soap opera.
He argues that, contrary to those who dismiss the genre, the cornerstones of TV schedules are transforming the way world culture is viewed. Its influence, he claims, is trickling down into areas beyond television's horizons and penetrating unexpected areas of public life, including the presentation of party politics on both sides of the Atlantic.
