A riot of gorgeous colour and swirling dresses, tonight's programme is the follow-up to the first programme of Festival Flamenco, seen in June. We can see the genuine Flamenco of the Spanish gypsies, a thing almost unknown in this country.

A series of films from all over the world about our astonishing planet and the creatures that live on it.

Spiders are not very popular, but their amazing courtship and feeding behaviour make fascinating viewing when filmed by those masters of macrophotography,
Gerald Thompson and Eric Skinner.
Commentary by Alan Gibson.
from the South and West

This film, first shown on BBC-1 on April 23, 1966, can now be seen in colour. Gerald Thompson and Eric Skinner, whose award-winning film The Life of the Alder Wood-wasp was a masterpiece of close-up photography, here turn their cameras and remarkable techniques on the spider, which under their lenses and bright lights becomes a fearsome creature with fascinating habits. Gordon Stent went blind six years ago. He was then running his own business-ironically he was a lighting consultant. He retired to Bournemouth and started to make a new life.
This film centres on this remarkable man who refused to allow his blindness to stop him doing what he wanted-and what he wanted to do was to become the first blind artist. He has developed a technique for drawing representational pictures and in tonight's film he demonstrates this technique and talks about his life since he went blind.

"...the best comedy show of this or any other year... electronic insanity, lightning-paced... imaginative, entertaining, one long laugh from start to finish"

So said the American critics of this new series of programmes of lunacy and laughter starring, as your hosts, Dan Rowan and Dick Martin featuring a regular company of crazy characters and a bewildering array of guests.
