With Donald MacLeod.

Following the death of the Elector of Saxony and the accession of his son Johann Georg II in 1657, Heinrich Schutz began retirement at the age of 72 with a substantial annual pension. It wasn't a complete break from court as he was still expected to officiate three or four times a year in Dresden at large-scale events. Apart from these ad hoc duties Schutz continued to compose and was free, at last, to produce grander and more richly scored music than ever before.
