Philip Dodd talks to Sebastian Barry, best known for his highly acclaimed play The Steward of Christendom, about his new work at the Royal National Theatre.

Directed by Max Stafford Clark, Hinterland stars Patrick Malahide as Johnny Silvester - an Irish politician who in his heyday was "father of the nation" but now finds himself revisited by a dubious past.

Pianist Jonathan Gee leads his long-established trio, featuring Winston Clifford on drums and Steve Rose on bass, through a set of high-energy originals. A leading exponent of contemporary jazz, Gee has been at the heart of the UK scene for two decades performing with his own groups and alongside leading lights such as saxophonists lain Ballamy and Ed Jones.
