Another chance to hear this two-part exploration of the issue of race on the UK jazz scene. In the first part, Kevin le Gendre and guests from the jazz world speak their minds on what it's been like to be a black jazz musician in Britain
over the last 60 years.

Cabaret as we know it began in Paris in the 1880s at Le Chat Noir. But the French cabarets Pepys wrote of in 1662, saying that "they have writ upon the walls... 'Dieu te regarde'", were much seamier establishments. This evening Kit and the Widow return with another show exploring the notion of cabaret, from the strange to the hilarious.

Opera House, Covent Garden, of Handel's dramatic masterpiece. Radio 3 New
Generation Artist Alice Coote heads the cast as the flawed hero Orlando, whose quest for both love and honourdrives him to madness. And while mortals suffer, the magician Zoroastro and the Gods look on, locked in their own struggle between passion and reason. Presented by Stephanie Hughes.

Ian McMillan brings the programme to the edge of England with an appearance at the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival. There's a new piece with a coastline theme written for the programme by Paul Farley , winner of last year's Whitbread Poetry Award.
