Claire Martin introduces a concert by the BBC Big Band, directed by William Russo , recorded before an invited audience at the BBC Radio Theatre in March. Russo was chief composer and arranger of the Stan Kenton Orchestra in the fifties and directed the London Jazz Orchestra in the seventies.
