Two of England's gold medal hopes,
Sally Gunnell and John Regis , top the bill on another night of important athletics finals.
Gunnell is a strong favourite to retain the women's
400-metres hurdles title she won in Auckland four years ago, the race is scheduled to start at
9.15. Regis, who recently broke the British record, is another hoping for a second successive gold when the men's metres gets underway at 9.55. Regis is confident he'll be fit to run despite missing this event in the European
Championships through injury.
The women's 200-metres final, for which Katherine Merry was hopingto clinch a place, starts at 9.35 and the final of the men's high jump, where
England's Steve Smith and Dalton Grant are part of world-class field, begins at 9.45.
There is also a roundup of the day's other events in Victoria with news of medals decided in bowls, cycling, rhythmic gymnastics, shooting and weightlifting.

800-metres final which gets underway at 11.05. There will be interest, too, in the women's javelin final where
Shelley Holroyd has a chance of a medal.
