The Australians lookjustas strong this time around with Geoff Huegill and Matthew Welsh among those aiming for medals and the England challenge should be strong with two-time Commonwealth gold medallist Mark Foster in the pool. The experienced Courtney Fry , a gold medal winner for
England four years ago, will be hoping to make Saturday's light heavyweight final.

Attention turns to the women's hockey semi-finals. Australia won the inaugural women's Commonwealth tournament four years ago, overwhelming England 8-1 in the final. Now the Olympic champions as well, Australia are favourites to retain their crown.
