RAYMOND BROOKS-WARD reports on the concluding stages of today's crucial and testing cross-country phase at Fairbanks Ranch, San Diego County - 100 miles south of Los Angeles, with comments from RICHARD MEADE , individual Olympic champion in 1972 and winner of three Olympic gold medals in this event. LUCINDA GREEN, world champion, and six times winner at Badminton, seeks an individual success that has so far eluded her, and Britain's team aim to repeat our Olympic victories in 1956, 1968 and 1972.
