The decathlon continues with action from the 110m hurdles and discus, featuring Britain's Alex Kruger. In the 1992 Olympic Games at Barcelona, Robert Zmelik of Czechoslovakia went into the lead on the second day of this two-day event, and eventually won by a 200-point lead over the home crowd's favourite, Antonio Penalver of Spain.
The women will be completing their qualifying rounds of the high jump and long jump, with British heptathlete Denise Lewis among the hopeful contenders.
Badminton medals will also be won in the men's and women's singles finals. Victory was especially sweet at the Barcelona Olympics for Indonesian Allan Budi Kusuma who won the men's singles title just hours after his girlfriend Susi Susanti took the women's title.
There is also semi-final canoeing action as those who have successfully completed the qualifying rounds compete for one of nine places in the final.
