7.05 The men's 100m semi-finals, in which England three great medal hopes, Dwain Chambers, Jason Gardener and Mark Lewis-Francis, will have the great Frankie Fredericks to contend with. The final is at 8.35.

8.00 England's Daniel Caines should feature in the men's 400m semi-finals. In 2001 he won the gold medal at the World Indoor championships, to confirm his breakthrough into the realms of top world class athletes, although a injury restricted him to just two outdoor races.
