Patty Duke and Martin Sheen star as husband and wife in this two-part thriller based on a true story.
Teenager Chris is seduced and then lured into marriage and fatherhood by a sensual older woman. His parents, Mary and Jack, have fiercely-opposing feelings about the situation - Jack wants to give his daughter-in-law a chance but Mary takes an immediate dislike to her.
Eventually Chris files for divorce but, before he can proceed with the action, he is brutally murdered. His mother suspects his wife was involved and is determined to see that justice is done.
Duke has won many awards including an Oscar in 1962 for playing Helen Keller in the film version of The Miracle Worker.
Sheen was recently seen in the mini-series Kennedy but is particularly remembered for his appearances in the feature films Wall Street and Apocalypse Now. Concludes tomorrow at 9.30pm.

Australia has become a major centre for radio astronomy. The 210-foot dish at Parkes, New South Wales has been in continuous operation since 1961 and has provided work of fundamental importance.
The "Australia Telescope", a network of all the main observatories, now covers a wide area of the continent.
In this programme, Patrick Moore goes to the Australian radio observatories and talks to the scientists who have made Australia so important in this branch of astronomy.
