Gary Lineker introduces live coverage of the vital World Cup qualifier between Germany and England at Munich's Olympic Stadium (kick off at 6.30pm).
The last time England took on their arch rivals was a year ago when they suffered a 1-0 defeat in their last-ever game under Wembley's twin towers, after which Kevin Keegan announced his resignation as national coach. The controversial appointment of Swede Sven Goran Eriksson brought about a resurgence in England's fortunes and, despite last month's home defeat against the Netherlands, confidence of inflicting Germany's first-ever home defeat in a World Cup qualifying match will be high, as well as the possibility of securing the single automatic qualification place in Group 9.
Commentary from John Motson and Trevor Brooking , with analysis from Alan Hansen. Coverage of the match is repeated in its entirety at 2.55am.
(S) Coverage of England V Albania is on Wednesday at 7.30pm
