12.05 Motor Cycling
Coverage of races 15 and 16 in the British Superbike championship from Mallory Park. As the race for the title nears its conclusion, the competition could hardly be closer, with Scotland's Niall Mackenzie only five points ahead of Jamie Witham from Huddersfield.
Commentary by Barry Nutley.

12.30, 3.50 Golf
Fourth- and final-round coverage of the Loch Lomond World
Invitational. Commentary by Peter Alliss, Dougie Donnelly, Mike Hughesdon, Dave Marr and Gary Wostenholme.

1.30 Grand Prix
Live coverage of the Portuguese Grand Prix from Estoril as Britain's Damon Hill aims to clinch the Formula One world championship. Hill will be crowned champion for the first time if he finishes ahead of his Williams team-mate Jacques Villeneuve, or if his Canadian rival fails to finish in the top three. Hill spun out of the Italian Grand Prix a fortnight ago but Villeneuve's failure to finish in the points has made Hill's 13-point lead look more commanding. Triumph in this penultimate race of the season would be particularly sweet for Hill, whose contract with Williams has not been renewed for 1997.
Highlights of the race can be seen at 9.50pm on BBC Two.

On the plus side, there's free accommodation in central London and probably more power overyour country than any other leader in the western world. With the help of the present and previous incumbents,
Michael Cockerell offers the first "how to" guide to the job of prime minister. Producer Charles Miller ; Editor Anne Tyerman

The son of a dockerfrom Dagenham in east London, TerryVenables rose from humble beginnings to become coach of the England football team. His career has been kaleidoscopic: professional footballer (most notably with Chelsea and Tottenham), singer, writer (the seventies detective series Hazell) and businessman. Family, friends, compatriots and critics all contribute to this warts-and-all portrait.
