First of two programmes focusing on the black experience in the South East.

Ten years after the riots on the Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham, unemployment among young black men in the area is running at nearly 70 percent - three times that of young white men.
Patrick Younge reports on how equal opportunities policies have failed a whole generation of black Britons, and on grassroots hopes that a racially based "black economy" could provide the answer.

A phone-in follows immediately after the programme on BBC Radios Berkshire, Kent, Oxford and GLR. If you would like to take part, call [number removed].

Second of three documentaries about the Welsh Guards Regiment.

Lieutenant Bruce MacInnes is a young university graduate, Sandhurst-trained, who has come to Northern Ireland to join his regiment. His inexperience antagonises the other guardsmen, as evidenced by the rather earthy language heard throughout the film.
