More moments from everyday lives. Subtitled
The topical news analysis programme, featuring interviews with leading figures and incisive debate on the stories behind the headlines. With Jeremy Paxman.
Is the 21st century going to be just like the 14th? Instead of the future predicted by science-fiction - a state-controlled, technologically sophisticated world - will the reality be political instability and a complete breakdown of law and order? Other predictions are not so grim. This Late Show film argues that the effect of new technology may be to free people from the need to congregate in cities to work. If we are rushing headlong back to the Middle Ages, then perhaps our contributions may become creative centres of ideas and invention.
Presented by Benjamin Woolley.
As the voluntary sector has grown during the last decade, so has competition for funds. Which organisations will survive?
