The twin Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago are celebrated for carnival, calypso and their fertile tradition of folklore. They are also distinguished for the richness of their wildlife - the fact that they were once part of the South American mainland gives their natural history a diversity unique among the islands.
Tonight's film includes unique infra-red footage of the elusive cave-dwelling oilbirds, and visits locations that required mules and donkeys to transport the camera equipment.
Folklore and animals come together in the bewitching tales of Trinidad's "master story-teller" Paul Keens-Douglas, whose legends also are brought to life in the film.
