The Carletons are attractive, charming, and display a very good line in confidence tricks. Outwardly wealthy and inwardly penniless, they attach themselves to a rich old lady with the express intention of bleeding her dry. But the little old lady has charms of her own. This gentle and sentimental comedy features an all-star cast, but is stolen by Minnie Dupree as the ageing Miss Fortune.

Set in the dramatic isolation of the Atlantic, they are home for wandering seabirds and a birthplace for grey seals.

Hostage. Liege, Belgium: one Saturday in September 1989, three men broke into the home of a bank manager, demanding that he open the bank vaults on Monday morning. Over the weekend the banker escaped, leaving his wife and two daughters hostage. This tense film, in French with English subtitles, follows the unfolding drama as the police surround the home and the gang leader makes his demands of the inspector in charge. Using their actual phone conversations and increasingly personal negotiations, it culminates in a brutal climax.
