Love story based on the play by Arthur Wing Pinero starring Dorothy McGuire, Robert Young.

The saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder has a special significance for a homely girl and a disfigured First World War veteran saved from the brink of suicide when they fall in love. They marry and move to a small New England cottage where hundreds of lovers who have carved their initials on the windowpanes have found true happiness. In the magical honeymooners' cottage they are oblivious to the eyes of others and it seems that nothing can ruin their idyll.
