On 30 July one of Britain's pioneering television cameramen, Slim Hewitt , died after a long illness.
Thirty years ago, with a tiny Bolex camera, he set out to give the British public their first candid glimpses of life in Peru, Australia, Vietnam, Japan and many other countries. The reports which went with the pictures were written by Trevor Philpott. Tonight he pays tribute to Hewitt's talent, and looks back on the perils and rewards of their unique working partnership.
