The 400-ton barque the Lord Nelson is unique: she has been designed and built so that the physically-handicapped can share the challenge of crewing and sailing a square-rigged vessel. This programme follows the building of the ship - from her keel-laying to a proving voyage in the Solent - examining her extraordinary design, and showing how it works in practice.

Jean has been trapped in her home for 13 years. Mrs Grey is a Catholic teacher at a Protestant school and Mr Scott is the French teacher who wants to take her to Paris with him. But Miss Black wants to go and so does the headmaster. Heather, Fiona, Shirley and Tracey have never been to Paris before, nor have Downes, Dobson, Fullerton or McKay; nor Trevor who is 11 and sees everything. And Tracey who is 14 wants to see the Mona Lisa, but the picture is so small and the salon so crowded she can't see anything - so she goes to see the Venus de Milo instead.
