A series for those who love the sea and sailing ships. Lord Nelson
'I think people who are physically disabled get a tremendous sense of achievement from coming aboard this ship. Here they're accepted because of their ability as opposed to their disability.'
The 400-ton barque the Lord Nelson is unique: she has been designed and built so that the physically-handicapped can share the challenge of crewing and sailing a square-rigged vessel. This programme follows the building of the ship - from her keel-laying to a proving voyage in the Solent - examining her extraordinary design, and showing how it works in practice.
