Nations celebrates its 40th Anniversary.
Brian Urquhart, 'the UN's oldest inhabitant' as he calls himself, has been with the UN for all of those 40 years.
His prime responsibility is for the overseeing of the United Nations peace-keeping operations. He also acts as a Minister without Portfolio for Perez de Cuellar, the fifth Secretary General he has served.
In the last of three programmes he talks to Sally Hardcastle about the role of the UN in the Middle East, an area of conflict which has occupied the UN's 'Mr Peacekeeper' for much of its first 40 years of history.
