For some 1,000 New York children, ballet star Jacques d'Amboise is the Pied Piper of dance. Each June, he leads them in a gala performance resulting from a year of practice and perseverance. His efforts are chronicled in this Academy Award-winning documentary which follows the energetic New York City Ballet principal dancer from auditions to rehearsals at the Lincoln Center and, finally, to the Event of the Year. Produced and directed by EMILE ARDOLINO
Rarely has the joy of dance - simply as an experience, and art form, or a means of expression - been so effectively displayed.
