starring George Formby, with Peggy Bryan, Edward Chapman
George Pearson is factory foreman at Dawson's Underwear factory and when he gets promoted to overseer, the rise is enough for him to get married. Unfortunately for George and Lydia, his mum wants to go on their honeymoon. This is not only one of the great Lancashire comedian's best films, but as a social comedy it is both sophisticated and accurate in its observation and in its anticipation of Women's Lib.

A series of monthly films exploring the English hedgerow. September
September hedgerows are ablaze with berries and shimmering with the gossamer of spiders' webs. David Streeter and Rosamond Richardson seek out the spiders and some of the less obvious insects of the hedgerow, explore the uses made of different hedgerow woods in the past, and give some tempting recipes for using the nuts and berries.

Prisoners of History
The final programme in this award-winning series, remade and updated in the light of recent events.
Ireland's past has formed Ireland's and Northern Ireland's-present. Eire still seeks the unity of all Ireland; the Protestant North still resists; Catholics in Northern Ireland are still disaffected; Britain is still involved. Over a decade of violence, in which more than 2,200 have been killed, has only hardened attitudes, though politicians still work for a union of hearts and minds, or at least agreement to differ and live in 'peace. There are few signs of movement. Both in the heartland of the Northern Protestant majority and in the Catholic communities they surround, there are those who see themselves as prisoners of history. Need they always remain so? Producer JEREMY ISAACS
