One of the oldest records in any book is that for a crossing of the - Atlantic under sail to America. Despite the sophisticated technology of modern yachting it stood intact from 1824 until 20 June this year. That's when Chay Blyth and Rob James finished the Observer/Europe 1 Transatlantic Yacht Race a day ahead of the cream of the world's racing yachts, taking just 14 days to cross what yachtsmen call 'The Big Pond'.
Clare Francis tells the story of their plans and their efforts to beat the fastest yachts in the world across the Atlantic.
