To save his country from bankruptcy, the King of Marshovia orders the reluctant Count Danilo to court and marry the wealthy widow Radek. Their scheme misfires when Crystal Radek discovers the plan and changes places with her secretary.
This 1952 colourful and lavish version of Lehar's famous operetta stars Lana Turner as the beautiful young American widow and Fernando Lamas as the count who woos her.

But much to the embarrassment of HM Government, a lot of Chinese want to get out of China to Hong Kong. Without visas, their best hope of reaching freedom is to swim. But there are also the patrol boats of the Royal Hong Kong Police. Whatever his private feelings, each captain knows what he must do if he comes across freedom swimmers.
