"The series which explores living memory" is ten years old. To mark the occasion we present eight programmes from its earlier years.

During the summer months in the years before the last war, the daughters of the very best families were driven to Buckingham Palace to be presented at Court - to be formally introduced to the King and Queen. They were debutantes, making their début into fashionable society. It was all called "Coming Out".
Katharine Ormsby-Gore, Dinah Brand, and Christian Grant came out in 39. And they remember the fun and formality of their first London Season - just 40 years ago.

"A charming little period piece". (Sunday Times)
"Seldom less than delightful" (Daily Mail)
