The Norwich Union Masters from Middleton Hall , Milton Keynes
The opening session of this three-day table tennis spectacular, featuring 16 of the top players in the world. The line-up includes the new World Champion SEIJII ONO from Japan, the European Champion GABOR GERGELY , the Hungarians who won the team event in the recent World Championships and four of the leading Chinese players.
Two groups of eight players meet each other on a ' round-robin basis with the top four from each group going through to quarter-finals.

Antonio Machado , one of Spain's great modern poets, lived in Soria -a high, austere Castilian town-from 1907 to 1912. There he met, married and lost Leonor-his great love. Leonor and the landscape around Soria inspired some of Machado's greatest poems.
