Twelve films from different parts of the UK which explore people's sense of identity. 6: Cheam
Deep in commuter country, on the edge of the Green Belt, Cheam has a lot going for it. Near the West End of London but not too near, it has a village atmosphere and an air of prosperity and stability. The verges are well-clipped, the sports clubs well-used, and the pubs wellpatronised. It's a place where the traditional English virtues of decency, patriotism and self-reliance are still taken very seriously.

from Clacks Farm with Arthur Billitt and Peter Seabrook
Herbaceous perennials need tidying up and seed can be saved for propagation. Dahlias need regular inspection for signs of pests. Madonna lilies and daffodils should now be planted for flowering next year. Arthur and Peter attend to these and other seasonal tasks and look at the results of blind gardener BOB ROBERTS ' labours on his plot at Clacks Farm.

Rippon on the Road
Traffic jams make the headlines almost every weekend of the summer. When the cause is an accident the emergency services often have difficulty getting to the scene and the police can do little to ease the congestion. Faced with similar problems seven years ago Belgium solved theirs by using helicopters.

A series of 12 programmes Written and presented by Magnus Magnusson 9: A House Divided
With the death of Solomon, about 930 BC, his united kingdom splits in two. Kings and queens, like Jezebel, Ahab and Jeroboam, emerge from the books of Kings, ruling over a new kingdom of Israel in the north and following many of the abominated Canaanite ways. Gods like Baal are worshipped again, bitterly opposed by the Hebrew prophets Elijah and Elisha with their emphasis on Jehova as the One True God.
Meanwhile in the south, the kingdom of Judah struggles to maintain that true way of Jehova from its capital, Jerusalem. In Ahab's palace at Samaria, MAGNUS MAGNUSSON treads the very paths that Queen Jezebel trod and in Jerusalem he explores the rock-hewn tombs built into the hillside for the palace favourites.
