One Pair of Eyes, the celebrated series of highly-personal films, ran for eight years-1967-1974. For this series one programme from each of those years has been selected.

1970: John Skeaping painter and sculptor of animals, describes his approach to art in I Draw as Though I Were a Horse Writing his Autobiography
"Today we are not as dependent on animals as we once were. Our approach to animals is largely based on sentiment-we like to credit them with human intelligence - and animal art has come to be regarded as a lower form of art."

John Skeaping believes passionately that animal art can only survive if it is based on a true relationship between man and beast. Tonight he describes how he has found such a relationship among the animals of the Camargue, in the South of France, where he lives and works.

A second chance to see this dramatisation of one of the most entertaining and sociologically interesting of all Dickens's novels. Seasoned from Above
Mizen Head is the most south-westerly tip of Ireland, the very last bit of the homeland that many a departing family saw as they exported their empty bellies hopefully to the new world. Now in this part of the world there are just unroofed houses and empty schools. But even in the best of times the living was harsh and the food basic.
