The John Player League Sussex v Glamorgan
Glamorgan were the beaten finalists in The Gillette Cup last season, but the most memorable moment of the match belongs to Welsh batsman Mike Llewellyn. Arriving at the crease, his first three strokes were four, six, four. He followed with a remarkable six which ended up almost in the commentary box near the top tier of the pavilion - one of the most prodigious hits ever seen at Lord's. Introduced by PETER WALKER with news of today's other fixtures:
Derbyshire v Somerset Essex v Worcestershire
Leicestershire v Hampshire Northamptonshire v Kent
Warwickshire v Nottinghamshire Yorkshire v Gloucestershire
Commentators at Hastings JOHN ARLOTT and JIM LAKER

Stella and the Apes of Mount Asserick
Stella Brewer grew up amongst the animals of the Abuko game reserve in West Africa. She could not bear to see young chimpanzees - orphaned by poachers - condemned to a life behind bars. But young chimpanzees depend on their mothers for safety and emotional support for as long as eight years.
This is the extraordinary story of how Stella decided to become foster mother to four young chimps and went off to the forest to teach them the ways of the wild - a story of her courage, the affections and jealousies of her all-too-human chimps and the adventures both comic and tragic that befell them.

A profile of Rod Stewart
What happens to a local boy when he makes it so good that he has to go into tax-exile and live cocooned in a world of publicity men and managers? Ever since the gigantic success of 'Maggie May' in 1971, Rod Stewart's stature as a songwriter and performer has been steadily growing. His records have made him rich but many of his fans feel left behind, unable to identify with his new image.
This profile of Rod Stewart was filmed during a visit in 1976 to Europe with his girlfriend Britt Ekland, and rehearsing his new band in Los Angeles. Excellent, sharp, truthful, illuminating and very funny. (Daily Mail)
A totally entertaining, yet clear-eyed look at the promotional tour ... and a relentless demolition job on the dream machine. (The Guardian)
Perceptive profile justifies every minute of its length. (Sunday Times)

continues the new season of films of the 70s tonight starring
Robert Powell , Gayle Hunnicut
Student Tom Betancourt calmly watches his room-mate and best friend bleed to death from self-inflicted wounds. Only when the boy is dead does Tom react - finding, inevitably, that he is partly blamed for the tragedy. When Tom falls in love with his friend's beautiful sister the tension increases, leading to further violence.
Cambridge and the surrounding countryside is an effective background to this stylish and dramatic contemporary drama.
