Mizen Head is the most south-westerly tip of Ireland, the very last bit of the homeland that many a departing family saw as they exported their empty bellies hopefully to the new world. Now in this part of the world there are just unroofed houses and empty schools. But even in the best of times the living was harsh and the food basic.
