Ten programmes presented by PROFESSOR BERNARD WILLIAMS 6: Justifiable Discrimination
Do black children need black teachers? Many young West Indians leave school disillusioned, with less qualifications and less chance of a job than whites and often to face racial prejudice. RONALD DWORKIN , Professor of Jurisprudence at Oxford University, argues that we should sometimes discriminate in favour of black teachers. ANTONY FLEW, Professor of Philosophy at Reading University, disagrees believing that this would be overtly racist.

Yorkshire cameraman Sid Perou , who has travelled the globe on caving explorations, penetrates the mysterious world beneath the Pennines, and takes us where television has never been before. Pippikin Pot
On remote Leek Fell, a cave exists so forbidding in its entrance series, only a ' thin man' team can go there at all. Beyond lies the promise of further discovery, but Pippikin Pot's challenge is that even a minor injury could entomb an explorer.
This film won the 1978 Royal Television Society Regional Programme Award.

Most of us assume basic human rights such as freedom of speech, belonging to political parties and joining trade unions. But all over the world people are being harassed, imprisoned, tortured, exiled and even killed for such things.
Ten years ago yesterday Russian tanks invaded Prague and in this special programme John Tusa introduces a prominent Czechoslovak dissident speaking on film smuggled out of the country last month. Karel Kyncl is a journalist and a signatory of the Human Rights Manifesto ' Charter 77'. He was arrested in 1972 and was imprisoned for nearly two years.
