Do black children need black teachers? Many young West Indians leave school disillusioned, with less qualifications and less chance of a job than whites and often to face racial prejudice. RONALD DWORKIN , Professor of Jurisprudence at Oxford University, argues that we should sometimes discriminate in favour of black teachers. ANTONY FLEW, Professor of Philosophy at Reading University, disagrees believing that this would be overtly racist.

Ten years ago yesterday Russian tanks invaded Prague and in this special programme John Tusa introduces a prominent Czechoslovak dissident speaking on film smuggled out of the country last month. Karel Kyncl is a journalist and a signatory of the Human Rights Manifesto ' Charter 77'. He was arrested in 1972 and was imprisoned for nearly two years.
