The John Player League Derbyshire v Glamorgan
Derbyshire took off with a flying start this season and were soon the early leaders of the John Player League. But weather and injuries have taken their toll and as we enter the second half of the season it is still possible for any one of half,a-dozen counties to win the Championship.

The Magical Indian Roadshow
Singers, dancers, actors, mimics, storytellers, acrobats, conjurers, puppeteers, snake-charmers. These are the people who bring entertainment to the village squares of India, giving a touch of magic to the remotest hamlet and the poorest peasant family.
The entertainers spend their lives on the move, carrying most of their possessions with them. This film follows them from village to village and even to the Maharajah's palace. It shows their lives on the road and also their attempts to attract a new audience in the cities - often against enormous odds. Narrator JAMILA MASSEY

A Platform Performance of Poetry from the National Theatre Introduced by Sir Peter Hall
Byron's irreverent portrait of Don Juan reaches across continents to infect Pushkin's Eugene Onegin, a Russian Byronic hero found wanting. Across a century as World War II approaches Europe, Byron's example spurs W. H. Auden in his letter from Iceland to an exuberant dance on the volcano's edge.
As well as plays the National Theatre performs poetry because poetry is language at its most potent. Recently these platform performances have been taken on tour and this programme of excerpts from the three poems was recorded at Goldsmiths' College Theatre, University of London. Don

Covering motor-racing's Formula One World Championship on Sundays through the summer.
Highlights of today's race at the Paul Ricard circuit. The JPS Lotus cars of championship leader Mario Andretti and Ronnie Peterson looked set to dominate the rest of the season when they finished first and second in both Belgium and Spain. But in Sweden Niki Lauda came back into the reckoning, though his victory in the controversial new Brabham brought protests from rival teams.

Sophia Loren in The Raffle
The 1970s version of Decameron continues tonight. In The Job, Visconti poses the problem of a rich wife who wants to earn her own money: after a chat with the call-girls her husband frequents, she has an idea of how to do it. De Sica has Sophia Loren offer herself as a prize in The Raffle, a very popular ploy, except with the young man who loves her. The Job The Raffle
