Within the space of a few weeks, Seville provides two of the world's greatest spectacles - Holy Week and the annual Spring Fair.
Manuel Sanchez Grove is an engine driver on the Spanish Railways. But in Holy Week he exchanges modern technology for medieval religious ceremony. Marking the death of Christ he walks in procession wearing long robes and a pointed hood. Don Angel Peralta is a landowner and an aggressively modern farmer. But his real passion is for horses and bulls. In the bull-ring he practises rejoneo, the aristocratic form of fighting bulls from horseback.

This year Bernard Leach celebrated his 90th birthday. This portrait of LEACH and his great friend, the Japanese potter, Hamada, filmed in Cornwall and Japan, examines their life and work and does much to explain why there has been such a revival of interest in pottery in this century.

At the end of a highly successful tour of Scotland earlier this year, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra gave a concert at Edinburgh University, part of which was shown recently on BBC2 in the programme North with NYJO.
Tonight's programme features more music from that concert, performed by this remarkable orchestra-average age 19-who play varied and distinctive big-band jazz with the maturity and confidence of seasoned professionals. Introduced by Derek Jewell
