The Silver in the Furrow
A dazzling exhibition of gold and silver, The Wealth of the Roman World opened -last week at the British Museum.
One of the ' stars' of the exhibition is a silver treasure found in this country only two years ago. Known as the Water Newton hoard, it was found near Peter-borough by an amateur archaeologist and pop singer Alan Holmes. Magnus Magnusson investigates this story of the Silver in the Furrow', the earliest Christian sacramental plate, now restored to its former glory.

Dan Morgan works as a collier in one of today's drift mines in Wales. But when one of the men working with the pit horses is taken ill Dan, against his will, is put to work with a horse called Badger. The horse turns out to mean more to Dan than he had ever suspected.

Pierre Durois is a maths professor with a talent for writing saucy magazine articles, quite unsuspected by his class of teenage girls or his father, the mayor. When his pupils discover his sideline, Pierre's efforts to protect his family's reputation cause widespread havoc. Getting involved with a Royal film star is not the best way to avoid publicity.
