Mike Tomkies , successful reporter, biographer of Hollywood stars, became tired of the luxury flat, fast car, and commuting between four capitals. Ten years ago he took off for Canada to seek peace and solitude in the wilds. Today he lives alone and inaccessibly on a remote Scottish loch. Apart from a weekly boat trip to collect essentials and mail, he sees no human being from September to M^y.
