Following the Tundra Wolf Narrated by Robert Redford
In a straight race a wolf doesn't have a chance against a caribou; the caribou can reach 40 miles an hour, whereas the wolf can only manage 30 ... Nevertheless, in the Canadian north-west, wolves live mainly on caribou. So how do they manage? The answer lies in tactics: organisation and ambush.
This film follows the epic spring journey of the caribou to their breeding grounds in the north-and the wolves that travel with them. It is the story of the delicate balance between predator and prey. And through remarkable aerial photography it shows just how the balance works.

Ludwig van Beethoven 1770-1827 The Last Years
In the first of two programmes to mark the 150th anniversary of Beethoven's death the outstanding American pianist and writer Charles Rosen talks about and plays some of the music that Beethoven wrote in the last decade of his life. At this time in spite of his deafness and great personal troubles Beethoven continued to produce music of profound originality ranging from tiny Bagatelles to the vastness of the Hammerklavier Sonata.
CHARLES ROSEN illustrates how this music differs from Beethoven's earlier writing and discusses why it has often been found ' difficult '. The programme concludes with a complete performance of the Sonata in A flat, Opus 110.
