Four out of every ten cars bought in Britain come from abroad. But how much of a foreign car is really foreign? Britain now sells abroad nearly £l,500-million worth of motor components each year. Much of that comes back here as parts of imported cars.
Bill Kerr Elliott reports from the Midlands and from German;- on the two-way traffic between cars and components.

The Pill for the People
The contraceptive pill came about through a series of surprises and apparent contradictions which stretch back 60 years. The purpose of the pill was to reduce the world's population problem, but it has become instead a controversial symbol of sex in affluent countries which have little or no population problem.
The man who everyone thought was dead tells how he found the Mexican root from which all pills derive. The' first doctor to prescribe the pill in Puerto Rico revisits the women who have been on it longer than anyone else in the world. It was a product of the western capitalist system, but the biggest pill user now is communist China. The story of this paradoxical product is told by those who actually did the work, and the successes of the pill are used to suggest reasons for its failure.
