In October of last year 5,000 women aged between 18 and 80 converged on the city of Seattle, USA for the 29th Annual Convention of Sweet Adelines, Inc.
Sweet Adelines are the exclusively female exponents of the music of barbershop harmony and they had arrived in Seattle to enjoy themselves, to show off their matching outfits and hairstyles but primarily, to sing.
Leaving their menfolk to tend the household chores, they came in quartets and choruses to show that they at least have been doing their own particular female thing for some years already. Narrator RAY MOORE
