Can this forward-looking formula survive in a Europe dominated by cars of conventional design from Fiat, Ford, and General Motors?

A season which saw the eclipse of France who had ruled the Championship for the previous two years; saw the unexpected resurgence of the England XV; saw Ireland make their most determined efforts for nearly twenty years to win the Title and the Triple Crown, only to fall at the final hurdle and leave the way clear for that momentous match at Cardiff between Wales and England.
All these events feature again tonight in this review of the recent International season, which is introduced by Cliff Morgan and Andy Mulligan in the company of some of the men who made these matches so memorable.

Four giants are in the ring-the National Coal Board, biggest employer of labour in Britain; the oil industry with its empires stretching from Kuwait to Alaska; the Gas Boards with their North Sea bonanza; and nuclear power, now supplying a tenth of our electricity and growing so fast that it may dominate all the rest within half a lifetime. The plans and calculations made by these industries now will affect the prices we pay for everything for the next twenty years. Have they got their sums right?

James Plunkett's novel of Dublin life at the beginning of the century, published this week, was ten years in the writing. It is tipped as the likely bestseller of the year, if not of the century, as the publishers claim; and advance sales have already set new records for a first novel.
Release filmed Plunkett in his native Dublin and the Wicklow Mountains, and talked to others involved to discover what it is that has given Strumpet City the smell of success.
