Five programmes that look at France through French eyes

with Madame Olga Boirie, concierge
Introduced by Max Bellancourt

Five families from five regions of France underline some of the contrasts and contradictions of a remarkable country, with one foot in the eighteenth century and the other in the twenty-first. Supersonic airliners and local saints; many chateaux and not so many bathrooms; a national preoccupation with modernisation but no word for 'efficiency.'
