Tonight for the first time in colour BBC presents - live - a sale of modern paintings which, in magnitude and importance, has not been matched for years. The collection, owned by millionaire Norman Granz, includes twenty-five Picassos.
Mr. Granz is one of America's most distinguished jazz impresarios. Before the auction Derek Hart asks him and Peter Wilson, the auctioneer, about the reasons for buying and selling such paintings, and how they can fetch such monumental prices in the saleroom.
