Alyn Shipton continues his series looking back on the careers of Cleo Laine and John Dankworth and their work at the Stables, the arts centre they founded attheirhome in Wavendon. Sharing their vision for an all-encompassing music policy were co-directors guitarist John Williams and pianist and composer Richard Rodney Bennett
. Education was at the forefront of the "All Music" plan and Alyn Shipton also talks to Avril Dankworth , who started the summer music courses at Wavendon, and to former pnme minister Edward Heath , who conducted a performanceof Tom Sawyer 's Saturday, a work by John Dankworth for narrator and youth orchestra.

Andrew McGregor and Lucy Duran introduce live sets and recorded highlights from today's acts at Womad. Algerian rockrai star Rachid Taha plays live from the Open Air stage, and Lokua Kanza from Zaire ends the day from the Siam Tent. In between are Coco Mbassi from the Cameroon and Ronu Majumdar on the Indian flute, together with artists from Womad's special 20th anniversary celebration event. And Andy Kershaw and Fiona Talkington will be roaming the Womad site in search of the good, the bad and the mad.
