Salford Quays, Manchester, and who has also designed the sets and costumes for a staging of Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, explores the relationship between creating architecture and creating music.

Drawing on his memories of the few things his father told him and his investigations into his family's background in Ireland, Ken Smith has made recordings in a variety of locations, accumulating sounds and noises of all kinds, to which jazz trumpeter Geoff Nichols has composed a blues accompaniment.'
